Is there a version history for files which are saved on iCloud Drive? Like you have in Dropbox for example.
By the way: I want to use a version history for my files on the iPad (could also be in the browser). Any ideas? I do not see any „Versions“ option in my Apple Apps (Numbers, Pages…) like many apple manuals are describing int.

As you mentioned, some Apple apps do allow you to recover previous versions. Check out this link for more information on that: Restore an earlier version of a document in Pages for iCloud - Apple Support
