Reset and unpaired Apple Watch won’t activate anymore

I can’t activate my Apple Watch even though I’m the one who unpaired and reset it, i can’t remove it from find my iPhone because I already have and when I try to use MY username and password to re activate the watch it won’t allow me to use my Apple ID is there anything I can do? I’m not the original owner but my sister did give it to me successfully with no issue whatsoever and I had it paired to my phone and on my account but since unpairing it and resetting it it won’t let me pair it at all

Make sure the watch is unpaired from the iPhone:

  • With a web browser, go to: https://www.iCloud.com and sign in with your Apple ID. Open Find My iPhone and select All Devices (at the top). Then click your Apple Watch, select 'Erase Apple Watch', and select Next until the device is erased. Finally click "X" next to remove your Apple Watch.

Then try to setup the watch. Maybe these articles will help:

If you see 'Unable to Verify Update' when updating Apple Watch - Apple Support


FWIW a lot of people have had trouble updating a series 3 watch. A series 1 or 2 watch is almost impossible to update and pair. With the limited memory in those watches, your best option may be to make an appointment at the Genius Bar in an Apple Store near you and let them look at it:
