Reset an old iPhone Apple Watch

I was given an Apple Watch. It was found in the trash a couple years ago and I want to know how to reset it to sync it with my phone it’s got a lock on it can you help me

Only the original owner can unlock it. You can recycle it fir free at an Apple store or your local recycling center.
