iMessage login

iMessage asking for Apple login.

When I enter my login details the wheel then spins and nothing happens.

I have signed out and back in. I have disabled cloud - all suggestions mention in forums.

My login details are correct.

This appears to have happened when I got my updated IOS 16.5 at the weekend.

Any other suggestions would be welcome.

Regards

Good Morning mingoslkd,

I powered off my router and then back on again. I was then able to login to iMessage.

It took a while before I could send anything but just checked there and all back to normal.

Really strange that the router, although appearing okay, should do that.

My thanks to you and bruno75 for taking the time to reply to my query.

All the very best.

Yhct1m,

Thanks for clarifying. We'd recommend trying to connect to the service using a different network to see if the issue persists. You'll want to make sure you are following all of the steps on this page:

If you can’t turn on or sign in to iMessage or FaceTime - Apple Support

If the issue persists after following those steps, and waiting the 24 hours, you'll want to reach out for additional support here: Get Support

Take care.

Hey there Yhct1m,

We'd like to help by learning more about what's happening, along with ruling out some possible causes:

  1. As it sounds like you're able to sign in/out of iMessage without any issues from the details you provided, we're confused about where you're seeing the spinning logo. To clear things up, where exactly are you signing into your Apple ID regarding iMessage? The more details you provide about this, the better we'll understand the issue.
  2. After signing into your Apple ID, are you having any issues with sending/receiving SMS(green texts), or any issues with iMessage(blue texts)?
  3. Sometimes unexpected behavior can be resolved with a restart: Restart your iPhone

Cheers!

Good Evening bruno75,

I access iMessage on my iPad.

When I click on the iMessage app I am asked to

“Sign in with your Apple ID to activate iMessage”

I then enter my Apple Password (it is correct as I have checked) and when I do this all I get is a small spinning wheel beside the “signing in”.

After a while I get a message box that says.

”FaceTime Activation

Unable to contact the FaceTime server. Try again”

I have tried Signing out of my Apple Account and back in, no issues. I’ve powered the iPad on and off but so far nothing is solving my problem.

Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Regards
