Message Widgets
I don’t know if you guys recognize what I’m talking about, but you know those widgets on top of the keyboard that appear when you’re typing in messages? They don’t work for my phone. I’ve put an image above.

So we're on the same page, can you tell us how the apps in the app drawer are not working?
You may be able to resolve the issue by deleting an app and redownloading it. You can learn how to do that here: Use iMessage apps on your iPhone and iPad - Apple Support
These steps may help:
Delete iMessage apps
1. Open Messages.
2. Tap the Compose buttonto start a new message. Or go to an existing conversation.
3. Swipe left over the app drawer and tap the More button.
4. Swipe left over the app, then tap Delete.
5. Tap Done.
Download iMessage apps
You can find and download apps to use with iMessage in the App Store for iMessage. Here's how:
1. To go to the App Store for iMessage, tap the Store icon.
2. Tap theicon or the price icon next to the app, then tap Install. You might need to enter your Apple ID password to complete the purchase.
3. Tap the gray lineor the Close button
to return to your message.
