How to turn on developer mode for your child

Yes, my son is on iOS 16.2 and I wanted to turn on developer mode on his phone but it’s hidden. I was wondering if there’s another way to turn it on his account is under my family account

Starting in iOS 16, Developer Mode has to be turned on when connected to Xcode. Developer Mode is used for installing apps on a device that are developed in Xcode. If you already have Xcode installed on a Mac, then after connecting the device with a cable, you can navigate to Settings > Privacy & Security on the iPhone and on the bottom of the screen should now be the Developer Mode option for you to toggle on.


It may be best to update the iPhone to the latest iOS version. I'm not aware of any restrictions to Developer Mode related to a child Apple ID or being part of a Family Sharing plan.
