Apple Watch (Ultra) - Slow Charging while wearing a 2. Apple Watch

Hello,

i was wondering why my Apple Watch Ultra is charging so slow. It takes 90 Minutes to get from 0% - 46%. I started investigations in this problem and found a discussion here (Apple Watch Ultra - Fast Charge not Happe… - Apple Community).

There is no fast charging, when the Watch ist not connected to the iPhone. Or the Watch use WiFi/LTE Connection instead and the power consumption is so high, that the fast charging cannot compensate.

I want to wear my AW6, while my Ultra is charging. I find a workaround that's help: Turn on the Flightmode.

My Ultra is now charging as expected.

I opened this thread, because I found no information about the issue. The Apple Support is not aware of this problem and has no documentation.

And people who using a second Apple Watch might be rare in the world. I hope this can help others with the same issue.

While you may need to get in touch with Apple Support about this, we'd like to help get your Apple Watch to fast charge without going through any workarounds. While you mentioned having a model capable of fast charging, along with the latest watchOS version, we wanted to rule out some other possible causes:

The first thing would be to provide a resource that shows what's needed to fast charge your watch: About fast charge on Apple Watch It also lists the wattage for the power adapters needed to fast charge your watch.
The latest for your iPhone paired with the watch would be iOS 16.5.You can verify this within Settings > General > About. In case you needed it, this link shows how to first back up, then update: Update your iPhone or iPad
Was there a time where your Apple Watch fast charged without any workarounds needed, and if yes, when did it start?

Hello,

thank you for your reply.

1) I've 2 Chargers with 20W and 40W. I already tried with the 120W Charger from my MacBook Pro 16". The room temperature was 22°C. The iPhone is nearby, because I've mobile activated. And I wear my second AW6. In this case my AW6 is connected with the iPhone. And the Ultra is not.

2) My iPhone is on 16.5

3) Yes, the Ultra is fast charging, when I didn't wear my AW6 and the Ultra is connected to the iPhone. Is reproducible every time.
