My daughter gave me her iPhone and it is locked to owner she has forgotten her password so neither of us can use it please help

There are 2 options. She either needs top recover access to her account (use the link above) or she will have to provide Apple with the original proof of purchase for the device from an authorized retailer to have the activation lock removed.
