airpods pro 2 case is draining WHILE charging

Yesterday, I got a notification on my phone that my AirPods Pro 2 case had 30% battery left so I plugged it in to the charger last night.

Throughout the night I got notifications that the battery charge was DECREASING despite being connected to the charger.

When I woke up this morning, the case was at 10%.

Airpods are at 100%.

This is not the first time something like this has happened, but I have no idea how to fix it.

My version is 5E135

The case is 54.26.1

Is this product defective? I got them in February 2023, and I do not use them often. I also don’t keep them connected to a charger.
