I don’t want an update

If Apple recommends an update, but I don’t want it care about the issues that are in the update, can I just not do that update?

You can certainly "skip" the update for now, but you should realize that everything in the current "update" will also be included in the next future update.

So, if there is something that you don't want in the current update, you will have to skip the next future update as well, and the next after that, etc.

I'm not sure why anyone would not want to have the most up to date security on their phone, but it's your call.
