I just got locked out of my Mac

For some reason my Mac password doesn’t work anymore! I keep typing it in and for some reason it keeps getting rejected. Is there a way to get in and change my Mac password from one of my other devices?

MacBook, macOS 10.15

First make sure Caps Lock is not "on". Press the Caps Lock key (once) and try your password again.

The Caps Lock LED may not be correct. The little ⇧ "shift" icon in the password field indicating the Caps Lock status may also be incorrect. On rare occasions, both of those anomalies have been known to occur after a restart. They should resolve themselves upon successfully logging in.
