program wants write permissions, but already has them?!

Not sure if I should put this in the Blackmagic or Apple support forums. So I am attempting to render a video project in Davinci Resolve and it tells me the render location is read-only and cannot write to this location. I check the permissions the folder in question...and all users have read and write permissions. Same with all higher folders and volumes it is in. But DVR insists and my render project is stalled. What could be blocking DVR from writing to this location? It has written to it last week no problem. I have tried having it render to other locations with the same result. Everything is supposedly read-only, which is complete nonsense.
