If you go to System Settings | Appearance, check the colors assigned for Accent Color and Highlight Color.
Assuming you mean highlighted text.
Probably more info would be helpful. I see your post shows Parallels with macOS 10.13. What exactly is the scenario with which this problem exists? In a VM inside Parallels? In macOS? What version of macOS?
I think you need to clarify what you are running. Your signature indicates you are running macOS 10.13 in Parallels?
Which Mac are you running?
That doesn't work. I have tried that. The mouse selects the text but you cant see the coloured tint over selected items.
