Insertion point color/Pages

Was the insertion point in Pages always orange? I never noticed and it never bothered me, but after upgrading to Sonoma yesterday it's become something that I would very much like to change. I see many options (accessibility, etc) for changing the mouse pointer size and color, but that's not what I need here. I just want to change the color of this one feature in this particular app. If it's not currently possible, I hope this customization is made available in future versions.

On Sonoma, the Insert point in Pages v13.2 assumes the color you have chosen for the Accent Color in System Settings : Appearance panel. Right now, mine is blue, but I changed to it red for amusement before making it blue again.

Apple's TextEdit application changes its insertion cursor color in the same manner, as does this community editor.

Apple, if you're listening, I'd still like to see independent control of this setting, rather than having it linked to a systemwide preference. At least now I know how to change it. Thanks.

This is so stupid!!! I can't believe it. My older mini was replaced (could no longer update) and I seriously regret buying a new one. I've found so many things just wrong. Back to Microsoft Word and I will be converting documents I use frequently back to Word. Orange is just too hard for me to see.

These are user-supported communities and the product teams do not participate here. You can send direct product feedback to the Pages product team via its application menu as a feature request.

I agree that Pages should have its own control over the insertion beam color.

The implementation of iOS/iPadOS and macOS are entirely different and the former has no Appearance Accent colors to alter the Pages for iPadOS insertion color. You will have to live with orange insertion point in Pages for iPadOS.
