iPhone stops connecting to bluetooth devices automatically after some time

I have an iPhone 14 pro but to be honest it also happened with my old XS.

I use many Bluetooth devices- different headphones, car Bluetooth… at some point my iPhone will not connect to Bluetooth devices automatically. I have to go to the settings app, choose the Bluetooth device explicitly, and then it will connect with no issues. If I restart my iPhone it will start connecting automatically again, but at some point it stops again, and I’m back to the same place. I don’t know when it happens, but it’s really annoying and happens quite frequently

when it happens it won’t connect to any device, so it’s not device specific, and after restarting, the same device will connect automatically just fine…

any idea?

Hello rongros,

To help us better assist you, can you let us know if you ever receive an error when the issue happens and the device stops connecting to Bluetooth? If so, what does the error say? That will help us get a better understanding of the issue.

If your device isn't connecting to Bluetooth accessories or devices as expected, please check out this link, which has some information that may help correct that issue: If you can't connect a Bluetooth accessory to your iPhone or iPad

Try these steps first

To get help pairing a Bluetooth accessory, like a wireless keyboard, to your iOS or iPadOS device:

1. Make sure that your Bluetooth accessory and iOS or iPadOS device are close to each other.
2. Turn your Bluetooth accessory off and back on again.
3. Make sure that your Bluetooth accessory is on and fully charged or connected to power. If your accessory uses batteries, see if they need to be replaced.
4. If there's an app that you use with the Bluetooth accessory, go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Bluetooth on your iOS or iPadOS device, and make sure that you've turned on Bluetooth for the app.

Thanks!

Hi, Thanks for replying!

There is no error message when it happens. it just sops connecting automatically, and if I try to select the devices manually, it will connect

It happens to different types of devices, all of my devices. When it happens - it will not automatically connect to any device, but it *will* connect to all the devices if I manually choose them from the bluetooth settings. after restart the same device will connect automatically until it stops.

Now that I think of it, I think it might have something to do with the fact that I am going to airplane mode at night, but I am not 100% sure it is related, I remember noticing this at some point.
