I have a MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012) Processor 2.5 GHz Intel Core 15, 8 GB, Capacity 998.97 GB Available 830.08 GB? I need to use Chrome browser for my work. Alerted I need Mac OS 10.15 for future Chrome updates. Located the update but concerned that my MacBook Pro is too "old" for the update to Catalina. At this time, my MacBook Pro is in excellent condition for my work.

softwareupdate --fetch-full-installer --full-installer-version 10.14.6
It will place a copy of the installer in your Applications folder and you can use that to create a bootable installer.
