Storing iPad Air Series 3 Files on USB or other mobile storage device ( ie not a desktop).

I have just purchased an Apple usb 3 to lightning adapter. It worked for about 2 hours and now, after reporting there was not enough power - nothing. I would like to believe that a plug with a higher wattage output might do the trick of bringing the device back to life, but I am afraid that the problem might have something to do with the adapter having updated itself. Are there any alternatives other than buying an iPad with a USB C charging port?

Your Apple Lightning to USB3 Camera Adapter is unlikely to have failed…

Subsequent to the iOS/iPadOS 16.5 update, there is an issue with charging the iPad from USB Type-A Power Adapters, via the USB3 Camera Adapter - regardless of the Power Adapter’s power output.

The current workaround, pending a software update to fix the issue, is to use an Apple 20W USB-C Power Adapter with a USB-C to Lightning charging cable.
