photos app on Mac

This is an interesting observation That I noticed in the photos app. How comes there isn't a trash can icon? take a look at my screen shot. If I go to image>delete photo it pulls it up but it goes away and doesn't live in the programs drop down menu? it seems like its been like this in all versions on Mac. thanks I also saw that apple now has it set by


default that your photos are password protected. please reply back

Not sure what it is you want a reply to. If you delete an item a trash can appears in the sidebar labeled "Recently Deleted". You have up to 30 days to recover deleted items from the trash. Once the time expires, the trash can disappears. Anything in Recently Deleted requires a password to view or recover items, unless you disable "Use Password" in Photos > Settings… > General under Privacy.
