Why is my MacBook Pro draining at 1% a minute?

I have 2019 Macbook 16" with 8tb --it's the highest/strongest/fastest MacBook Pro at the time. BUT -- it's losing battery like a sieve and working at a cafe or on the road impossible. It's essentially a desktop. Which is crazy. And terrible. No matter if I turn off all the apps, and just work in safari on two tabs, it's no good.

I'm tired of this and apple, despite returning twice for other issues, it's like this. They say battery returns fine results to testing, but as I'm typing just this, it's down 2%. Annoying. Is this the life we have to live? $5k for 5 minutes of battery life?

What apps do you have installed which are working your laptop so hard? The most likely culprits are anti-virus apps, cleaning/optimizer apps, and third party security software....none of which are needed on a Mac. Run EtreCheck and post the report here so we can analyze it to identify any possible contributors to the battery drain.

Plus, your laptop may now be four years old. Which means the battery may be wearing out or even failing. Unfortunately even the Apple Diagnostics may not identify a failing battery. Batteries are consumable items which do wear out & fail over time.

So there may be multiple things going on here which is causing the battery to drain faster than expected.
