Quicktime player trimming clip more accurately

Ok, I could not reply to the original post because it was too old, so I'm just copying it here, along with my solution.

"If the trim bar is really small because you're trying to isolate a minute of lets say an hour long clip can you zoom into the section so it takes up the entire trim bar for a more accurate trim?

You can do the same thing in Imovie when choosing what portions to add.

I swear I did this by mistake the first time i used the trim feature and now I'm not sure if it was a glitch or what.

can anybody confirm or deny this for me?"

Yes, I came across this exact same problem...It's important to note that I recently upgraded my 2012 MBP to a 2022. I started looking online first for an answer and found this post and nothing else that touched on the subject.

I then searched the "help" in the QuickTime app and found this;

"Tip: To make more precise edits, click and hold a handle to see individual frames of the clip."

So I went back to my file that I was trying to trim and....no luck.

What I had to do to get this to work was turn off the "Force click and haptic feedback" setting in the trackpad control panel. And, just like that..the "zoom in to time" while trimming worked.
