Air Tag Compatibility With Duracell Batteries

I purchased a 12 pack of 2032 batteries for my various Air Tags from Duracell. I found they didn’t work and saw from various posts it’s the bitterant they add to the battery that prevents it from working.

Does anyone know a way to remove this coating so I can use these things and not have to waste a dozen batteries?

As an FYI I tried the “wipe the battery with salvia” trick and that did not work

thanks

Acetone has been reported as being an effective bitterant solvent.

That said, acetone dissolves a LOT of things, so you certainly don’t want any acetone residue inside your AirTag.

It’s unknown effect on the battery’s insulating seal “put me off” from even attempting.

I simply returned the Duracells back to the place of purchase and exchanged them for “bitterant-free” Energizers.
