apple music

I have had apple music for many years. That money has purchased a fair amount of music. I recently canceled this service as a way to save a little money for now. At renewal, when it did not go through, deleted all by a few songs. Couple days later i got about half of the music back. Some that was downloaded through apple music and some that I had purchased outright. I did not know Apple would delete my entire library, As I feel I have bought this music. Is this part of the plan? I do not recall seeing that if I canceled I would lose everything, including music I purchased before the apple music.

G'day Woodman424,

As we understand it, you're unable to play content that was downloaded from an Apple Music subscription after you canceled the subscription, and you're also having issues with purchased content.

Since Apple Music is a subscription, if you cancel it, you would no longer have access to the content you streamed or downloaded.

However, you should still be able to access music that you purchased outright in the iTunes Store. Based on your description, you might need to follow these steps to re-download the songs to your device: Redownload music - Apple Support

"Redownload music in the iTunes Store app on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

1) Open the iTunes Store app.

    • On your iPhone or iPod touch: At the bottom of your screen, tap More More button, then tap Purchased.
    • On your iPad: Tap Purchased.

2) Tap Music. If you use Family Sharing, tap a family member’s name to see music that they purchased.

3) Find the music that you want to redownload, then tap it.

4) Tap the download button Download button next to a song or album.

Don't see the music that you purchased?"

We hope this helps. Have a good one.
