Samsung printers are now part of HP.
You do not say for which Mac operating system version.
Any information about the exact SCX-4x21 printer model (including any suffix)?
This would be experimental, but for macOS 12 Monterey and macOS 13 Ventura you could possibly try the Samsung universal driver https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/printers/SS/Print_Common_SW/Samsung_Mac_Driver_V3.93.08.dmg (you may have to choose another model, such as M2020 or M2070, if an entry for your printer does not appear).
Before testing anything, make sure that you have backup copies of all important files (documents, photos, et cetera). Software conflicts cannot be ruled out.
You may have to reset the printing system (link below) between tests.
