File transfer between hard drives PC to Mac
How do I transfer files from a hard drive used with a Windows PC to the Time Machine backup hard drive on my new MacBook Pro?

You can only transfer files to your Mac, which will in turn be backed up by Time Machine. They can't be put there directly.
