Uber Driver app issues with CarPlay

Whenever I have my iPhone 14 pro max plugged into my 2022 Nissan Altima, the Uber app switches to CarPlay audio, no matter what other source I am using, whenever the Uber app makes a sound, (if listening to Sirius, etc, switches over to carPlay when Uber sound is made. When CarPlay was introduced with the Uber app it didn’t do it but now it has been and I have to streams XM through my phone which I wouldn’t mind but there are places where I don’t have the best service and it just cuts out so I’d rather stream directly from the car. This is Very annoying... Any ideas.

Hi Jwhitejr96,

If we understand correctly, you have your iPhone connected via CarPlay, but you're listening to music with the XM Sirius input in your car. When you receive an Uber notification it switches your stereo from the XM Sirius input to CarPlay and stops the music.

If we're on the same page, you may be able to change the settings in CarPlay or create a Focus to customize the notifications that you receive while you're driving. Change settings in CarPlay will guide you with both options.

Uber Driver Support may also have some suggestions that will help.

So it’s when ever it speaks the directions and plays any sounds ideally I wouldn’t want to silence the notifications because it lets me know when someone requests a ride/ sends a message
