What type of 2017 MacBook do you have?

If it is a 13- or 15-inch MacBook Pro, running macOS Monterey 12.3 or later, it should be compatible with the 27" Apple 5K Studio Display. If it is a 12-inch MacBook or a MacBook Air, it's not on the compatibility list.
