Issue? Apple Diagnostic PPP001

Why do I get PPP001 code (power port issue) when doing an apple diagnostic test on battery power and no issues when running the test while charging through magsafe charger?

Shouldn’t the code be PPP007 when power adapter is not connected?

I think it’s related to the fact that the diag tool cannot test the MagSafe port on battery cos I just got the m2 max MacBook Pro 16 and I’m doing tons of test to see if all is okay and I got this error too on battery. I didn’t tried yet hooked on MagSafe but I’m confident that it doesn’t mean there is an hardware defect but just that the test couldn’t check the state of MagSafe and so it reports that maybe the power port have an issue . If u check apple website they tells us to plug into MagSafe and check again so I think it’s an expected behavior …

can you explain your issue,

cos mine was that I got a refurbished MacBook Pro ( like new , 1 charge cycle , and just 500 Gb written on internal drive ) . so I check the computer with many tools, and did apple diagnostics , the first time I did it was on battery I got the P0001 ' error ' and on magsafe no issues found, so I was worried too and I logged in the apple website where they explain all codes, and I was reassured, cos the P0001 code just means that on battery the diag cannot test the power cord , and that's logical, if u plugged via magsafe you should get the P0000 code , if not I didn't understood your issue , please explain , I'll do my best to try to help you .

yes , read my answers above , it's logical that you have this error, cos if u consult safari it says to connect the magsafe cable and try again, this dial tool is far from perfect, it should explain better for example that it found no issues, but it couldn't test the charge cable for example, and also as I said, if u leave on external Magic Trackpad and keyboard this would also give me an error about bluetooth, but if I turn them off , then the MacBook is able to check the included keyboard and trackpad and report no errors, I really think should rethink how these errors code works, why not include the description of the " error "... so many people seems to think there is an issue and there are not, as long as you plug just magsafe and disconnect any accesories, turn off BT keyboards, mouse or trackpad , and u noticed that it should return no errors.

the user Diagnostic...not as definitive as Apple's own AST2 (Apple Service Toolkit) back bench diagnostic
