Help for Airplay Receiver ?

did anybody use recently screen mirroring from iPhone (iOS16.5) to iMac Ventura 13.4 successfully?

My issue: no Airplay Receiver menu option under System Settings/General/Airdrop & Hand-off

FYI, my chat case id 102020835667 closed now awaiting Phone call later today. It was very friendly but unsuccessful!

I don't know how you had this before. Your mac was never on the list of supported macs for Airplay Receiver - which was introduced back with Monterey:

  • MacBook Pro (2018 and later)
  • MacBook Air (2018 and later)
  • iMac (2019 and later)
  • iMac Pro (2017)
  • Mac Mini (2020 and later)
  • Mac Pro (2019)

There are third party applications that can provide similar functionality. I used to use AirServer quite a lot, and it worked very well.

Everybody,... had a call with Apple support (nice guy Jesse),... result Apples screwed me,...after last OS update (stupid me had keep my Mac up to date on) the previously available "Airplay receiver" menu option was removed from my device,... apparent reason is that this is not an iMac Pro just an iMac (2017),...

Naturally there was no warning or information,... in some jurisdictions this business practice would be punishable but,... Apple get away with it,...

Or maybe better point me to a 3rd party patch to get the functionality back,...

Is it possible that this mac may have had some third party software like AirServer (or other with similar functionality) installed at some point? It may still have it… but since AirServer is an application, you actually have to have it running.

+1 Just installed AirServer on my 2015 iMac. Worked like a charm with my iPhone SE (3rd Generation). Now I've deleted it. 😎
