Mass flag emails on iPhone

Why, within the select all function, of the email app do they place “mark as read” directly above “flag”? Once you mistakenly hit “flag” …. You’re up a creek without a paddle! Because your only “fix” is to select all and mark as “unflag” which renders the feature useless at best and problematic at worst because any previously (purposely/correctly) flagged emails will also be unflagged (good luck trying to search and find those important emails again). Anyone know how to turn the “flag” feature off in the select all options or at least how to request developers to address this flaw?
