Redownload of purchased (Itunes) movies not working

I bought a load of movies on Itunes over the years, and they're now appearing in the Apple TV app on my PC. I want to watch a couple of them on my laptop (MAcBook Air), so i click dutifully on the download icon and the little timer dial starts running. And that's about it. No progress bars or messages, no apparent download success, just the little download spinner. I have a fairly ropey 18Mb download speed and these are maybe 4 or 5 gb files (so maybe 30 minutes to download??), but I left the **** thing running for 8 hours yesterday in a fit of Apple-rage and still no action. Is there any way of checking whether anything is actually happening? I have a grim suspicion that somewhere a pop-up is trying to tell me, but noi sign of anything. Help much appreciated. PLease o please bring back Itunes from around 2010....

Hi Andrewmcd,

Downloads in the TV app would work fairly similar to downloads from the App Store or iTunes. You'll see a spinning gear or wheel but it will then start to fill in, in some manner.

If it just consistently spins, it is not downloading. We'd recommend testing with a different show or movie. If the same thing happens with both, restart your Mac and Wi-Fi network, then try again.

Additionally take note there can be limits on downloads for some types of content, however you should receive a dialogue box or alert that you're at said limit.

"Limits for downloads

For most Apple TV channels, downloads are available for up to 30 days before they expire. For a few channels, downloads might expire earlier.

Some Apple TV channels might have limits for how many titles can be downloaded simultaneously and the number of devices you can download content on. If you reach the limit, the Apple TV app alerts you. If you want to download more titles, delete TV episodes or movies that you already downloaded from one of your (or your family's) devices."

Let us know how that goes, and we'll follow up from there.

Cheers!
