iPhone 13 alarm goes quiet after one second

Sounds like Attention Aware is automatically lowering the volume when you look at the alarm notification.

Look under Settings, Face ID & Passcode, enter your passcode to access settings, then scroll way down to Attention Aware Feature.

Toggle it to off.

"iPhone will check for attention before dimming the display, expanding a notification when locked, or lowering the volume of some alerts."

Disable "Do Not Disturb":

2. Scroll to: Get help with alarms
3. As it Reads: "If you have an alarm that doesn’t sound or is too quiet, or if your iPhone only vibrates, check the following:"
4. Proceed from there as necessary
