Mac Mini Pending Migration Coming Up

When I hook my new MacMini M2 (ETA 0621/23) to my old 27" iMac quad-core in the target mode, will I see it's two external drives also? The plan is get a AGPTEK USB-C Docking Station with a 2TB SSD installed as a home for Time Machine.

What you are trying to do, is not totally clear.

The iMac will not work as a display for the Mac mini in Target Display Mode.

see > Use your iMac as a display with target display mode - Apple Support

If you have an external display connected to the Mac mini and use Target Disk Mode with the iMac,

see > Transfer files between two Mac computers using target disk mode - Apple Support

then yes you should be able see the external drives attached to the iMac.

Also keep in mind, that it is possible to connect both existing external drives and the USB-C Docking Station directly to the Mac mini.

Ahh... I see, boot the iMac into Target mode. My two external disks are Lightning drives, I want to retire them and go with all SSD & APFS. My Mini will have 2TB internal to hold the iMac internal (616gig) & my 1TB external graphics & photo collection (238gig). My other external (WD 2TB) has Time Machine & a boot disk on it, could I have a partition for a boot disk on the SSD in the dock?
