iPad change device name by itself

I created a unique device name for my iPad. However, I noticed this morning that this has changed to the default "iPad" name. My IOS version is 16.5. Any reasons for this happening?

There’s too little information with which to speculate how or why the device name is not as you believe it may have been previously set.

You can set the device name of your choice from iPad settings:

Settings > General > About > Name - set as required

After setting the device name, close the settings App - and then perform a restart of the iPad. A changed device name will not take effect until the device is restarted.

Thanks for your reply. I have already changed the name to a new unique one and will see how it goes.

The only other information I can offer is that when I tried to open my iPad this morning, it would not start - even though it was 100% charged. I followed the instructions re forcing a restart - upper volume button, lower volume button, then hold power button until Apple logo appears. This took several attempts. Would this have caused a reset of device name?

To reiterate, it is impossible to constructively speculate as to how or why the device name is not as you believe it may have been previously set.
