That Network folder is basically a place-holder 'Folder' for every potentially-accessible device around you on your connected network, including Ethernet segments and Wi-Fi segments of your Home Network. So if you had another computer connected its name would show up here if it were accessible, such as had any 'Sharing' services turned on.
When I open mine, it shows a hardware icon for my Server in the basement and an icon for each of the two Macs that are connected that have sharing turned on. No iPhones are shown.
