USB Charging Port

Most likely the laptop has a hardware failure since only one port is affected (hopefully only with the I/O Board as that is the least expensive repair possible). Have Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider examine the laptop (possibly even the charger & charging cable) to confirm & provide you with a repair estimate.
