Running iOS 16.5 on iPhone 11. Randomly and inconsistently between various recipients, pictures I send from my iPhone to others via iMessage show up as image when sent, then later change to a gray bar with a question mark in the chat history. See below screen shots.

SAME!!!!! I have a recently purchased iPhone 14 Pro Max (iOS 16.5) & when I send pictures & videos via. iMessage to other people, or send pictures as text msgs. to Android users…they receive my photos, however on my end they will suddenly turn into gray boxes w/ question marks. I know they received my pictures, but it’s frustrating b/c I don’t know what pictures I sent to them and I also don’t know if once they turned gray w/ the question mark if the other person I sent them to can still see them, or not…I want this to stop! I sent pictures to myself the other day to see if it’d do the same thing to me & it most certainly did. Have you or anyone else found a solution to this?
I haven’t experienced the problem in recent weeks, but I can’t say for sure whether the problem has been resolved since it was an intermittent issue. I did recently update iOS and hope that may contain a permanent fix.
