Scsi to USB
I have an old Syquest drive that reads 88mb 5.25 cartridges. It has a scsi port. Is there a way to connect it via USB to my MacBook Pro?

Hi,
No practical way. You should look for an appropriate pre-1998 Macintosh computer. Probably something like a 1994-1997 model with Ethernet. The SyQuest drive could be connected to the SCSI port of the computer, which should allow you to read files on the cartridges. Files could then be transferred to a more modern Mac, for example, via a network.

Maybe this ?? http://computercableinc.com/ccinc/products.jsp?sub=USB+to+SCSI-2-+(MD50)&id=3322…. IF you can find one ( they’re pretty rare) and IF you can get it to still work with macOS 10.13… no guarantees there… as Jan Hedlund posted, it’d be easier and more practical to find a pre-1998 Macintosh computer, and transfer the files via Ethernet network…

You're welcome!
Do not hesitate to post back if you have further questions.
The old Macintosh computer could also be a PowerBook. If it has a PC Card slot, one could use a memory card (such as CompactFlash) in a PC Card adapter for transfers. At a more modern Mac, a USB memory card reader could be used. The PowerBook computers had HDI-30 SCSI ports.
Many thanks!
