Network connection drops intermittently when video conferencing

I've been teaching remote classes with no issues, and the same setup, for about 4 years. A few months ago, I started having this issue where I will unexpectedly drop off the network - which disconnects me from my class and is very disruptive. To recover, I have to reboot (and then everything comes right up).

I'm at the end of my troubleshooting rope, and am looking for ANY ideas. Here are some details:

  • This has happened on two different web conferencing apps (Zoom and WebEx)
  • This has happened from three different locations (with completely different networks, external devices, etc.)
  • It happens whether I'm connected via WiFi or a wired connection
  • All my software and OS are up to date
  • It doesn't matter how many students are connected
  • I have disabled or uninstalled all unnecessary software
  • I have changed out all cables, adapters, etc.
  • The company I worked for changed out my laptop

So the ONLY thing that has remained the same is the software that is running. Other instructors in my company are running all the same software, and I'm the only one having this issue. Is anyone else experiencing something similar - or does anyone have suggestions? I did find a 3-year-old question that described exactly what I seem to be going through...but there is no resolution in the response. Just some troubleshooting suggestions (all of which I have tried, and they have not worked) - and then the thread ends.
