Is it possible to mirror the Apple TV display to an iPad?
I know I can mirror the iPad on the Apple TV, and I know that I can use the iPad as a remote for the Apple TV, but is it possible to achieve the reverse? In other words, whilst controlling the Apple TV on my iPad I would like to see what the Apple TV display is showing (with the connected TV turned off).

Perhaps consider that to do would be pointless. Your iPad is capable of using the AppleTV App providing access to exactly the same content and services.
Using the App on your iPad, instead of mirroring from your AppleTV box to the iPad, is significantly more efficient. Streaming to your AppleTV box over your internet connection and WiFi network - and then attempting to mirror content to your iPad (again over your WiFi network) would effectively double the required WiFi network capacity required to stream content.
