My iPhone is disconnecting Wi-Fi after it is put to sleep mode.

How can it be solved?

I don’t wanna use my mobile data when I’m home

Apple removed my comment saying apparently was not conforming to the "guidelines"

Was that because I have compared to Samsung phones? If that's the case it's censorship.

I will try again reformulating it:

Purchased my first iPhone today after 12 years of Android, I wanted to try something new and knowing it now finally had USB C was the final trigger.

I am puzzled anf disappointed by the following the issue.

Can anyone please answer me explaining why this happens?

My bedroom is underground hence doesn't receive any mobile coverage so I rely on wifi and I work in a rural area and we only have wifi there. So I have always been relying on WhatsApp calls and message and wifi calling Functionality offered by my provider.

Even if I did have cell coverage what if I just wanted to use wifi instead of 4g or 5g ?

Or what if I run out of data?

Essentially, if I am on wifi, unless my phone screen is on I cannot receive phone calls on WhatsApp, cannot receive calls on WiFi calling, cannot receive FaceTime. Cannot receive any messages or emails.

This makes this new expensive phone I bought essentially useless to me. I struggle to understand why a phone cannot stay connected to wifi whilst not in use.

If this is the way it is and if it won't be changed then of course I will have to return it and go back to android.

Anyone can help? Thanks
