Mac Mini trouble connecting to monitors

I have a mac mini which does not connect to an older monitor with a Moread HDMI to VGA adapter, it does connect to another monitor using HDMI to HDMI but NOT to the monitor I want to use, again HDMI to HDMI. Tried two different HDMI cables but I just get “No signal”

second monitor "no signal" on mac mini m1 I just purchased a Mac mini m1 and set it up. Now, I formerly had a Mac mini 2014 with two monitors that were plugged in via a thunderbolt 2 - vga adapter. After reading advice on the web, I purchased 1 usb-c - vga adapter and one hdmi - vga adapter. The usb-c one works great, but while the computer "see" the second hdmi monitor on system preferences, I get a "no signal" display on the monitor. Is there anything specific that I should have checked with the adapter? I don't want to buy new monitors since the ones I have work perfectly. But they only have vga or dvi connectivity. Suggestions?

Problems in connecting 3rd monitors to a Mac mini (M1 CPU version) Cannot connect 3rd monitors to a Mac mini (M1 CPU version). I connected to these monitors - Wacom Cintiq Pro 32" LCD monitor & Wacom Cintiq Pro 13" LCD monitor & XP Pen 24" LCD monitor, but not successful, only 2 monitors can display; the remaining one monitor shows no signal, which runs normally with another computer. Could you help check this issue? I hope the update for new macOS Big Sur version can fix this problem. Thank you.

mac mini hdmi port won't connect anymore I use 2 external monitors on my mac mini, one is connected through a usb-c hdmi adaptor the other is connected directly in to the mac mini's hdmi port. I awoke the computer from sleep this morning and the monitor that is plugged directly into the hdmi port will no longer display. switching which monitor is using the adaptor I can confirm that both hdmi cables and displays still work, but whichever monitor is using the standard hdmi port refuses to display. I have tried going to system preferences -> displays and hitting the "detect displays" button but that has not helped. I have also tried restarting the computer twice, as well as unplugging and the monitor's power and display cables and re attaching them. So far no luck on getting a monitor to display using the standard hdmi port, while the usb-c port works fine.

What year model is the Mac Mini?

If it is a 2018 or later Mac Mini, then you can use a USB-C to VGA adapter.

Test a Mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter in one of the Thunderbolt 2/Mini DisplayPort's,

or….. a different HDMI to VGA adapter.

I think it is, but to be sure I would have to take it back to the one monitor that does work. So I need a USB-C to VGA cable/adaptor?
