Unable to contact iMessage server

Out of nowhere I can no longer access iMessage or Facetime servers to sign in. I get a signin challenge, enter the details and then wait till it times out. I can’t turn it off because I can never signin. I have rebooted, signed out of and back into iCloud but nothing changes.

This is out of the blue on an iPad that has been fine for a couple of years.

Access to iMessage and FaceTime For over a week now I’ve not been able to access iMessage and FaceTime on my iPad.I am asked to sign in with my Apple ID.When this is done the signing in goes on for days and gets nowhere.If I turn the iPad off and then back on,occasionally it will allow me to sign in again but without success.I’ve now changed my Apple ID but cannot at the moment sign in. If I go in through settings to Messages the whole thing freezes and I have to turn the device off. Help required please. Every thing else appears to be working ok. My iPad is synced to my iPhone.I am getting iMessages on the iPhone. Look forward to any advice and hopefully a resolution.

Unable to sign in for iMessages on iPad yesterday I had no issues with my iMessage on my iPad. Today it is asking me to sign in and takes a long time to verify. How can I fix this? TIA

Fixed. Double click home button, swipe up on messenger and reboot.
