Oh my new iPad Air, if I select and hold either the time or date in the top left hand corner of the status bar, a larger pop-up is displayed in the middle of the screen with the time (or date).
Is there anyway to turn off this functionality?
This doesn’t happen on my 4th gen iPad Pro.
both are running iPadOS 16.5

Since we’re unable to replicate this issue, try quitting all open apps on your iPad, then restarting it: Quit and reopen an app on iPad - Apple Support. Once it’s back to the Home screen, see if the issue repeats itself.

We're not seeing an option that matches your description.
If you swipe down from that part of the screen you would see your Lock Screen, which would show a large date and time. Is that what you're describing?
It would be expected to swipe from the top and see Lock Screen or Control Center, depending on where you swipe.
If you swipe on the top right do you see Control Center?

Hi, thanks for your reply but no, that isn’t what I am meaning. Swiping down works fine. It is when to tap and hold on the time or date on the status bar these pop-ups appear on the centre of the screen on iPad Air.

also I have just noticed that it also,does the same thing if I tap and hold on any info in the status bar. Eg Wi-Fi, battery percentage etc

I think this is going to have to go to apple support, restarting the iPad made no difference.
