Creating an Apple ID - Errors

Hello,

I've got an old iPhone and wanted to use it for some basic tasks, nothing fancy.

So I tried to create an Apple ID.

However, I get a few error messages, never able to get beyond a certain point.

Has anyone experienced this before?

What really gets me is that it doesn't tell you what the problem is, so I can't adjust anything. If there is a problem, I expect to be told what the issue is!

So why isn't it doing at least that?!?

And in this context, I come across the field where you input your details.

However, how do you create an Apple ID without an existing email address?

Do they really expect people to create a 3rd party email address just to open an Apple ID (which in return will gove you...an email address @icloud.com or so)?

That makes no sense to me, so what am I missing here?

Sorry for the beginner's questions. I'm actually not that new to it but this I haven't encountered before.

So hoping for some more experienced bug-fixers to reveal their secrets :)
