Incorrect home address Apple Maps app
This is not a question. This is a solution for a long standing issue that was never solved.
I just found out through extremely creative thinking that the incorrect and ancient (10 plus years old) home address shown on my Apple Maps on my iPhone 14 is not an address in Apple’s perception , but something called a ‘guide’. One of those features I do not ever use and did not even know existed… here is how to get rid of it.
When in Maps, tap on your initials/profile picture. You will see ‘guides’.
Tap on the arrow icon to open.
If your incorrect home address is shown here, tap on ‘edit’ in the bottom left.
This should then enable you to tap-select the faulty address and delete it.
Warning:
it is a fickle feature, I had to do this several times to expose the selection radio button. And after tapping ‘delete’ the address seemed to still be there. But after returning to the guides list it WAS finally gone.
Like me you may wonder what a guide is. According to the info online, Apple expects people to use it for the creation of a list of destinations for a daytrip or vacation. I have never to my recollection used it for that purpose. But I am glad that super old address is finally gone. I hope it helps for you too.
