Y are all my messages sending as text messages

iPhone SE, iOS 16

welcome to the Apple (user-to-user) Community.

Could be any one of various reasons ..

eg: have you tried restarting your iPhone (re-establish the wi-fi connection, delete temporary files etc),

or

(if you hadn't already) updating to iOS 16.5 (security updates, bug fixes etc)

and

are you sending to iPhones / Macs etc., or Android phones, or both.


Generally Messages sends iMessages over wi-fi (blue bubbles)

and

Messages sends SMS/MMS Text messages to Android phones using cellular data (green bubbles)..

or

Depending on your settings, if a wi-fi connection is not available, all messages may go via cellulat
