Restore iphone from macbook after restoring data from Android

Dear All

I guess I have done a blunder. I have been using iphone for some time and then decided to transfer the data from my Android phone to iPhone.

First step I did was backup the iPhone in my macbook.

Then I reset the iPhone and used the Move to iOS app to transfer data from Android to iPhone. The transfer is going on while I am typing in this space.

Now my query is after the Android -> iPhone transfer completes, will I be able to get the restore done from the Macbook as well?

I need data from both my old Android and from my iPhone backup in Macbook.

MacBook Pro 14″, macOS 13.4

No, you can have either the Android data or the iPhone data, but not both. The one exception is if you synced data to iCloud (as opposed to backed up to iCloud) you can sync that data from iCloud back to your phone.

iCloud+ has 2 independent functions. iCloud backups, and iCloud sync. It’s confusing because they both have the same name prefix. But they have no connection with each other. Go to Settings/[your name]/iCloud. You will see a bunch of switches (with iOS 16 also tap Show All). When you turn on a switch that data type will sync to iCloud. If you do this on multiple devices that share an Apple ID the selected data will sync to all of those devices.

You can also turn on iCloud Backups. This will back up your phone every night if the phone is plugged in, connected to Wi-Fi and locked.

But note that anything that you sync by the first method will be excluded from the iCloud backups.

Thank you.

Let me be a little more specific. And please help with this query. The major data I wanted the Whatsapp data which I was still using in my Android phone. Now, after the transfer completes in my iphone, if I backup the whatsapp data to cloud and then restore from the Mac, will I be able to have both the data?

I have to get the data from Macbook as I have many passwords saved in that backup.
