If I pay for a hotel booking with my Apple Pay that’s connected to my debit card and I cancel my booking, does the refund appear on my Apple Pay or will it appear on the card it’s connected to?

According to apple “Your refund might take several days to appear on your card statement.” The refund should appear on your card statement and not apple wallet.
