Hi! I am experiencing some really weird behaviour with Apple Home, where when I turn on a newly installed smartplug connected to a lamp, the HomePods in the same room starts playing music from my partners Apple Music. We have no scenes set up so this behaviour is very surprising.

How are you initiating this? If you’re asking Siri, it can mishear your request if it thinks this was a song. If you’re tapping in the home app light icon , it shouldn’t do this. If being done this way on your partners home app on their device, are they set up to share Home?
Just another thought as well...check to make sure you somehow don't have an automation created to start music playing after certain lights are turned on.
I am initiating the light through the home app, or through the home shortcut on the control center.
It is my partner who set up the home, he is the owner of the home. I am an admin. I will try to turn on the light on his phone and see if it also starts playing music.
I have checked this! There is no automation set up!
