Phone Stuck in Start-Up Loop

iPhone 12 Pro Max is stuck in a startup loop and nothing we’ve done is working. We’ve tried the manual restart of pushing the up vol, down vol, and side button. The phone then says connect to a computer. We connect but the device isn’t recognized on iTunes (File>Devices and nothing is listed)

The phone was a little glitchy before but did get wet (not submerged) in water. Even after water exposure it was working fine. Then just turned black and showed Apple logo. Then back to black and back to Apple logo.

are there any other tricks?

Two basic troubleshooting steps to perform (test after each attempt):

A) Try a "forced" restart of your device using these instructions: Put it on charge for at least half an hour, then, keeping it plugged in, use these gestures:

Press and quickly release the volume up button, press and quickly release the volume down button, then press and hold the side (power) button. Only when the Apple logo appears (it might take 10-20 seconds), release that button (ignore all other screens that might appear, the one with the "slider" to turn the device off included).

B) If you can, check your battery status in Settings>Battery>Battery Health & Charging>Maximum capacity. If it is close to 83-80%, have it replaced as soon as possible, since it might have unpredictable behavior.

If the issue still persists, it might be a hardware (digitizer? other internal component?) failure, and I suggest that you make an appointment (*) and have your device inspected at an Apple Store or AASP (Apple Authorized Service Provider) among this list:--> https://locate.apple.com/choose-country-region . After checking it out, they'll give you all the available options.

GEE Thanks Mate...Most rechargeables go as far as 5% life of the battery before it wants to be euthanised. Well i'll have you agreed that my xR was between 77-85% when it just stopped. Once upon a time, i got a brand new XR and then by own fault sold it. So i got a second hand XR and never, have i come across any problems worth telling about to the world until now. Unexpected shut down to me is sinister, and then reboots only to shut down, and repeats the process. I know i can install a new battery but when i had a 6s, i learnt to never touch the battery what so ever....Apple did a trade-in of A$260 even with the loss of the gsm ability in the hardware.. lol. oh well, back to the shittyy android for now😭😭😭😭
